Art and tradition

The ancient art of mosaic in the contemporary world.

…a few steps from the center of Pietrasanta, an international city of art and cultural melting pot of artists from all over the world for years.

Our workshop creates custom mosaics thanks to a timeless craftsmanship whose charm, elegance and refinement never go out of fashion. Our studio collaborates with many artists and architects by creating works for private and public spaces and places of worship.

OUR HISTORY

The artistic history of the Lochtmans family begins three generations ago, in 1948, when the Favret company takes Federigo Lochtmans on as an apprentice at the age of 13. He learns mosaic techniques at a young age and in the early 1960s, he decides to work at the Bacci e Ferrari company until 1974. The same year, together with three partners, Federigo opens his own business. His son Daniele also joins it in 1980. In 2004, Federigo and Daniele found Lochtmans Mosaici where grandson Gabriele also starts work in 2017.

California, New York, Ohio, Florida and Illinois are some of the states where Lochtmans Mosaici has worked in the field of sacred art. The company has created various interiors internationally and collaborated with many contemporary artists, such as Igor Mitoraj, Antonio Trotta, Jean-Michel Folon and Girolamo Ciulla.
